On Mission: His Ways
On Mission: His Ways
Verse of the Week
I've been thinking on a verse lately—it's Isaiah 55:8-9:
"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
Quick Thought
Isn't it such a comfort to know that God sees the bigger picture, even when we can't? It's a powerful reminder for me to trust in His wisdom, especially when things don’t go according to plan. Honestly, I’m not always quick to trust Him, particularly when it feels like the world is against me. It’s not always easy to trust Him, and you know what, that’s okay. God knows your heart, and there's no need to pretend everything is fine when it's not—You're not fooling Him anyway. But here’s the beauty of it: He's still there. Just because it's hard for you to trust His plans doesn't mean His plans have failed. However, the real joy and peace come when we truly understand that His plans are always better than ours, and His wisdom far exceeds anything we can comprehend. I’m so grateful to serve a God whose understanding is beyond mine because if He weren’t, He wouldn’t be much of a God at all.
Challenge
When things don’t go as planned, pause and remind yourself that God sees the bigger picture. Trust His wisdom, even when you don’t understand. It’s okay to not have it all together—He knows your heart. Choose to embrace the joy of trusting His plan, and ask yourself, How can I trust that His plans are better than mine today?
In the words of Charles Spurgeon,
“God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken.
And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart.”
